Summary

Update October 2022:

When the Health and Care Bill was granted Royal Assent at the end of April 2022, the approval of the new Health and Care Act 2022 confirmed that Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) would come into place from 1 July 2022, replacing the existing Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs), followed by the introduction of Integrated Care Services (ICSs) from 1 April 2023.

Following the abolishment of Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) from 1 July 2022, NHS Digital have issued a final publication of the CCG Outcome Indicator Set (CCGOIS) covering the period 1 April 2021 to 31 March 2022. This publication has only updated those indicators which could be updated at this time, based on data up to 31 March 2022.

The Clinical Commissioning Group Outcomes Indicator Set (CCG OIS) provides clear, comparative information for CCGs about the quality of health services and the associated health outcomes.

The indicators measure outcomes at CCG level to help inform priority setting and drive local improvement. The CCG OIS does not set thresholds or levels of ambition.
