Summary

The indicators aim to provide clear, comparative information for Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) and Health and Wellbeing Boards (HWBs) about the quality of health services commissioned by CCGs and, as far as possible, the associated health outcomes.

This release sees the publication of the following indicators for the first time:

  • 1.17 Record of stage of cancer at diagnosis
  • 1.18 Percentage of cancers detected at stage 1 and 2
  • 1.20 Mortality from breast cancer in females
  • 2.16 Health-related quality of life for people with a long-term mental health condition
  • 4.2 Patient experience of hospital care
  • 4.5 Responsiveness to Inpatients' personal needs
  • 5.1 Patient safety incidents

The following existing indicators have been updated with new data periods:

  • 1.1 Potential years of life lost (PYLL) from causes considered amenable to healthcare
  • 1.2 Under 75 mortality rates from cardiovascular disease
  • 1.6 Under 75 mortality rates from respiratory disease
  • 1.7 Under 75 mortality rates from liver disease
  • 1.8 Emergency admissions for alcohol related liver disease
  • 1.9 Under 75 mortality rates from cancer
  • 1.19 Antenatal assessments <13 weeks
  • 1.14 Smoking status at time of delivery
  • 1.15 Breast feeding prevalence at 6 - 8 weeks
  • 2.1 Health-related quality of life for people with long-term conditions
  • 2.2 Proportion of people who are feeling supported to manage their condition
  • 2.6 Unplanned hospitalisation for chronic ambulatory care sensitive conditions
  • 2.7 Unplanned hospitalisation for asthma, diabetes and epilepsy in under 19s
  • 2.9 Access to community services by people from BME groups
  • 2.15 Health-related quality of life for carers
  • 3.1 Emergency admissions for acute conditions that should not usually require hospital admission
  • 3.3 Patient reported outcome measures (PROMs) for elective procedures
  • 3.4 Emergency admissions to hospital of children with lower respiratory tract infections (LRTIs)
  • 4.1 Patient experience of GP out-of-hours services
  • 5.3 Incidence of Healthcare Associated Infection (HCAI) - Methicillin - resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA)
  • 5.4 Incidence of Healthcare Associated Infection (HCAI) - C. difficile
