Public consultation into use of these statistics
The Health and Social Care Statistics Leadership Forum have commissioned a joint public consultation of health and social care statistical outputs produced by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), Office for National Statistics (ONS), United Kingdom Health Security Agency (UKHSA), NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) and NHS England (NHSE).
The statistics in this publication are part of this consultation and we would invite all users to respond to help us understand how the data are used and ways in which they could be improved. The consultation can be accessed on the following link Health and social care statistical outputs published by DHSC (including OHID), NHSBSA, UKHSA, ONS and NHS England - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) and is open until 5th March 2024. Summary
This report shows monthly numbers of NHS Hospital and Community Health Services (HCHS) staff working in NHS Trusts and other core organisations in England (excluding primary care staff). Data are available as headcount and full-time equivalents and for all months from 30 September 2009 onwards.
These data are a summary of the validated data extracted from the NHS HR and Payroll system. Additional statistics on staff in NHS Trusts and other core organisations and information for NHS Support Organisations and Central Bodies are published each:
