Publication archived

As part of the 31 December 2021 publication, released on 10 February 2022, we introduced a significant methodological change and recalculated and re-published all historical figures back to September 2015, which means that figures in that release differ from and supersede those previously published, including those in this publication.

These pages have been retained in the publication archive for your reference, but the figures presented should no longer be used.

Summary

This biannual report complements the monthly series of statistics and presents regional information on the full time equivalent working commitment of GPs, Nurses, Direct Patient Care and Admin/Non-Clinical staff based in General Practices in England. It presents details of patient counts and rates of health care professional per 100,000 patients for the main staff groups. This report also includes experimental analysis of workforce joiners and leavers.

The monthly publications includes as standard:

● the Excel file of Bulletin tables

● the Individual-level CSV

● the Practice-level CSV

Twice a year, for March and September data, we will produce additional regional and experimental tables. These tables are presented in this release, along with a CSV of Practice information including contract type.

We are continually working to improve our publication to ensure the components are as useful and relevant as possible for our users. Information on further changes to the series will be detailed in future publications. We welcome feedback from all users by email to: [email protected].
