Regionally, the South East reported the highest number (435) of concluded DPAs that were fully recovered, which is 16.4% of all DPAs that were fully recovered in England.

The London region reported the lowest number (135) fully recovered DPAs, amounting to 5.2% of the England total.

This varies regionally, with Yorkshire and The Humber region having the lowest (37.4%) and West Midlands having the highest proportion (63.0%) concluding due to the death of the holder.

For the 1,305 DPAs that concluded due to the death of the holder, 26.8% (350) had been in place for more than 36 months.

Of the DPAs that concluded during the lifetime of the holder, 33.8% (450) had been in place for six months or less.

The longer the duration of the DPA a higher proportion will conclude due to the death of the holder (34.4% concluded due to death in 6 months or less, increasing to 76.3% concluding due to death after 36 months).

Recovery was attempted against 60 of these. There was a partial recovery from 25 DPAs with a value of £735,000.

Regionally, London shows the highest number of DPAs written off. Counts for North West, East Midlands and South West regions are suppressed.
