Issue resolved: Records not updating in API suite

A system update resulted in some records not being updated in the ODS API suite which applied to records added or updated between 5 April and 9 May. The issue has now been identified and resolved.

ODS will be monitoring updates over the coming weeks to ensure that the behaviour does not reoccur. For affected records the LastChangeDate attribute has been updated to allow the data to flow to consumers using the sync endpoint. This will ensure that updates are picked up without the need for rework for client systems calling the service.

High Security Psychiatric Hospital – Primary Care Access

The Organisation Data Service (ODS) has allocated new GP practice codes for three high security psychiatric hospitals to enable the patients to engage with primary care.

The codes have been allocated to Broadmoor (Secure) Practice, Ashworth (Secure) Practice and Rampton(Secure) Practice.

A new CCG Hub (15L) has been set up to enable the new GP Practice codes to be allocated. Once the products and services are linked, it will give patients (via healthcare specialists) access to day-to-day healthcare, and allow access to programmes such as screening, GP2GP and the e-Referral Service (eRS).

It has been agreed with the above hospitals that these codes will be only used to allow access to primary care services and will NOT be used for prescribing activity or the allocation of a prescribing pad.

The new codes have been allocated to the Care Identity Service (CIS) and are currently visible via the ODS API. They will appear in the ODS October files (CSV and XML).
