Lung Cancer Screening Data Set user guidance

This guide is designed to accompany the Enhanced Technical Output Specification (ETOS) and provide users with more detailed information about the data requirements for the data tables and data items. It will be updated as work progresses on the data set.

LCSDS Technical Output Specification

A specification for the output data set required of service providers which defines each data item within the data set. This document splits the data set into individual data groups, with each table containing data items, values and national codes, and should be read in conjunction with the LCSDS data model.

Watch the video walkthrough of ETOS v1.0.7 recorded in February 2026. It can be used to assist you with your implementation of LCSDS v1.0.

LCSDS v1.0 data model

The data model shows how the different groups of data within the data set are linked, using primary and foreign keys to join the records.
