National Diabetes Audit – Integrated Specialist Survey (NDA ISS)
Frequency: Annual
Background to the collection
The National Diabetes Audit Core Programme is made up of 4 modules/workstreams:
- National Diabetes Core Audit (NDA core)
- National Pregnancy in Diabetes Audit (NPID)
- National Diabetes Footcare Audit (NDFA)
- National Inpatient Diabetes Audit, including National Diabetes In-patient Audit – Harms (NaDIA-Harms)
The NDA programme also runs occasional audits such as:
- Structured Education
- Transition
As part of this collection NHS Digital have been tasked with a deliverable to create an integrated specialist survey across the programme which encompasses all modules/workstreams. There are already organisational surveys carried out for NADIA and NDFA, however we plan to stop these and only carry out 1 survey across the programme to ease burden and streamline the collection.
The findings of the survey will be published by each of the audit streams within the NDA, with analysis pertinent to each area. When each report is published, they will indicate resource levels, staffing levels and availability of clinics etc. at trust level.
