Urgent care self-service product

The urgent care self-service product, also known as Streaming and Redirection, is a kiosk based service, provided as a web application. Patients arriving at urgent care settings, such as accident and emergency (A&E) and urgent treatment centres (UTCs) can use the product to assess their symptoms.

How it works

Patients answer questions about the symptoms they have arrived with. They can then be prioritised within the department based on their need or can be redirected elsewhere, if it is safe and appropriate. This may involve being sent to an alternative department within the hospital or to an external service such as a dentist or a pharmacy.

The product was commissioned during the COVID-19 pandemic to support patients and staff at urgent care settings.
