Patients can download the NHS App or find the same services in their NHS account on the NHS website.

Prescriptions in the NHS App

Patients can view prescriptions, request repeat prescriptions and choose a pharmacy.

Changing GP surgery in the NHS App

Patients can view their current GP surgery and register with a new GP surgery.

GP health records in the App

Patients can view new health information from their GP health record, including their appointment notes, test results and documents.

GP appointments in the NHS App

Patients can book appointments through the NHS App - get advice on making appointments available and using language patients can understand.

Test results in the NHS App

Patients can access their test results in the NHS App and see information relating to their diagnoses.

Documents in the NHS App

Patients can view or download documents about their health in the NHS App.

Notifications and messages in the NHS App

Patients can receive in-App messages from their GP surgery, instead of other traditional communication methods like SMS (text message) or letter.

Hospital and specialist appointments in the NHS App

Patients can view and manage hospital and specialist appointments and referrals in the NHS App.

Contact your GP surgery in the NHS App

Patients can contact their GP surgery to ask about a health problem, or request a letter or information, where available.

Waiting times in the NHS App

Patients aged 16 and over can see the waiting times when they are referred into a specialty (department) at an NHS acute trust.

Family and carer access in the NHS App (proxy access)

Patients can access medical services for a child or someone else they care for (also known as linked profiles, proxy access or switching accounts).

NHS App integrated live partners and services

Patients may be able to send requests to their GPs, receive healthcare messages, access personal and national services provided by supplier organisations

Switching patient facing services off

Patient facing services (PFS) are Apps, like the NHS App, which allow patients to digitally access NHS services. Patient facing services are sometimes switched off which can impact how patients can access services.
