New workflow request or workflow amendment for an existing mailbox

NHS organisations, IT specialists, adult social care teams and individuals can use this form to request a new workflow group and/or workflow ID, or request a workflow amendment to an existing MESH mailbox.

Before you begin

To complete this form you will need to:

  • be the MESH mailbox administrator if you are requesting an amendment to an existing MESH mailbox
  • have liaised with the Service Management Cell 1 MESH Team or the SPINE DevOps Team if you are requesting a new workflow group and/or workflow ID

Thank you for submitting your Message Exchange for Social Care and Health (MESH) new workflow group/ID request or workflow amendment. We will review the information submitted and contact you within 10 days.

Only the MESH mailbox administrator can request a workflow amendment to an existing mailbox
Describe the amendment you require to the above mailbox. You should list any workflow IDs that need to be removed and/or added.
Describe the message/file transfer business flow of the new group. This should be a brief description of the type of file/data being transferred and which organisations will be involved in the transfer. Do not include details of how the data has been formed or where it originates but only details of the MESH transfer. For example, Surgical Device and Implants – Transfer of surgical device and implants data between NHS Digital and NHS Providers. You can also suggest a workflow group name although it is important to note that your suggestion may not be adopted exactly as stated. The MESH Team will determine the final name of the group based upon the information provided.
Ensure you have read the guidance on workflow IDs (link above this form) prior to completing this section. You can suggest a Workflow ID name although it is important to note that your suggestion may not be adopted exactly as stated. The MESH Team will determine the final name of the ID based upon the information provided. You must confirm whether you are requesting an Initiator or Responder workflow ID (for each ID being requested) Finally you should add a brief description of the file/message transfer associated to each ID. For example, DPS_DEVICES_IMPLANTS (Initiator) Sending device and implant data between NHS Digital and NHS Providers; DPS_DEVICES_IMPLANTS_REC (Responder) Receipt of device and implants data between NHS Digital and NHS Providers.

  • group and/or ID name suggestion
  • group and/or ID description of the business flow
  • Initiator or Responder for each ID being requested

If you do not provide all the information your request will be rejected.
