Changes to data sharing functionality in TPP SystmOne

Summary

In early 2018 TPP made a number of changes to their SystmOne Enhance Data Sharing Model (eDSM). This page lists some key actions and recommendations that NHS Digital and NHS England Clinical Leads advise GP Data Controllers to consider.

These tools will support GP data controllers and ensure they can confidently activate and control the sharing of patient records to support care.

The work has been delivered by TPP in consultation with professional representatives from the BMA and RCGP, the Information Commissioners Office, NHS England, NHS Digital and the SystmOne user group, all of whom are supportive of the changes.

The following document lists some key actions and recommendations that NHS Digital and NHS England Clinical Leads advise GP Data Controllers to consider. This will ensure local services that depend on access to GP records are not disrupted.

Clinical statement and recommended actions

In September 2018 NHS Digital and NHS England hosted a number of webinars on the subject of Sharing Records for Direct Care Using TPP SystmOne. The webinars provided a platform for Bradford CCG, Birmingham and Solihull CCG and Gloucestershire CCG to share their experiences in adopting the new functionality, and explain how they’d used it to increase confidence and expand safe and legal sharing of patient records.
