Manage users who have an eVisa
How to use an eVisa share code in Care Identity Management.
If you are a Registration Authority creating a new user profile for a staff member who uses an eVisa, you must first ask them to generate a share code.
How to get a share code
To get a share code, the staff member should go to this page on the GOV.UK website, follow the steps on screen and make a note of their code. They should then provide you (as their Registration Authority) with this share code.
The user should not use a Right To Work share code.
Check the staff member's immigration status
You should then check their share code. Go to this page on the GOV.UK website and follow the instructions, inputting the share code and any additional details required.
For the purpose of check, enter NHS Registration Authority completing an ID check.
Create the user profile in Care Identity Management
When you create the user profile, at the stage where you choose their ID verification documents, select 'eVisa'.
When you select 'Continue' you'll see a notes field.
In this field, enter:
- the user's eVisa share code
- the date of the immigration status check you performed
- the reference number of the immigration status check you performed
You should retain a copy of the details of the immigration status check for your organisation's own records.
You can then select 'Continue' and follow the remaining steps to complete the user profile.
