Primary Care Workforce Quarterly Update, 31 March 2026

Boundary changes introduced in April 2026 have led to some complications with the way we currently present our ICB-level data on Ad-hoc locums in Table 2 of the Primary Care Workforce, England - GPs, March 2026 file. Ad-hoc locums are traditionally subject to a lag in reporting compared to other parts of the workforce and this lag has introduced complication in trying to add new ICB data to the old ICB mapping structure during this period, primarily as the two sets are not directly comparable. This table will be fully updated to the new ICB structures in the next release of this publication.
