National registrations figures reinstated
NHS App account registration figures at both national and ICB /region level have now been reinstated following the resolution of a previously identified data issue. These figures are available in the Excel summary file and associated CSV outputs.
In addition, ICB-level “unique users logging in in the last 12 months” figures have been revised following the identification of an issue in the methodology used to assign users to practices for this April 2026 release. Users are now consistently attributed based on their most recent login during the 12-month period.

Changes in this release
Full time series revision
The full time series has been revised following improvements to data processing. As a result, some figures in this release may differ from those previously published. These revisions improve the accuracy and consistency of the data over time.
Extension of time series
The time series has been extended to include data from December 2020 onwards, where figures are available.
Introduction of new ICB structure
NHS App users’ GP practices have been mapped to the new Integrated Care Board (ICB) structure, which came into effect on 1 April 2026. As a result, figures at ICB level are not directly comparable with those published in previous releases.

New prescription tracking measures
This release introduces a number of new measures relating to the National Patient Prescription Tracking Service and its features within the NHS App, including pharmacy site coverage, patient enablement, service usage, and “Ready to Collect” notifications.
Introduction of England-level CSV
An England-level CSV has been introduced to improve accessibility and usability of the data. This provides national-level figures separately from the existing ICB-level CSV.
Registrations data issue
An issue affecting NHS App account registrations data was identified during the production of this release. As a result, these figures were temporarily removed while the issue was investigated.
Registration figures at national and ICB/region level have now been reinstated in the Excel summary file and the associated CSVs.
