This report summarises the key findings from the Government's National Child Measurement Programme (NCMP) for England, 2013-14 school year. The report provides high-level analysis of the prevalence of 'underweight', 'healthy weight', 'overweight', 'obese' and 'overweight and obese combined' children, in Reception (typically aged 4-5 years) and Year 6 (typically aged 10-11 years), measured in state schools in England in the school year 2013-14.
PHE Obesity Knowledge & Information team (K&I) will conduct additional analyses (expected to be published in mid 2015), and the anonymised national dataset will be made available to PHE Obesity K&I to allow regional and local analyses of the data. Additionally, PHE Obesity K&I also present NCMP data in an online data tool that enables the user to examine patterns and trends at local authority level. On the 27 May 2015, the HSCIC were informed by Hackney council that the record for ID 931348 was incorrect and the weight should have been 44.4 kg instead of 144.4 kg
