This report contains key information based on the submissions that have been made by providers to the Community Services Data Set (CSDS) collection and focuses on data relating to activity that occurred in January 2020 as follows:
* 132 providers submitted at least the minimum data for the CSDS. Of these, 131 providers submitted referrals data and 125 providers submitted care contact data.
* There were 1,187,323 referrals received across all submitters of referral data, relating to 906,637 patients. Of these, 242,403 referrals related to 217,130 children and young people (aged 0-18).
* Of these 1,187,323 referrals above, 944,859 referrals related to 689,465 adults (aged over 18). 19 per cent of total referrals were for patients with ages over 85.
* There were 8,924,053 care contacts with 2,589,843 patients, across all submitters of care contact data. Of these, 2,171,093 contacts related to 960,861 children and young people.
* Of these 8,924,053 care contacts above, 6,752,498 contacts related to 1,628,958 adults. 21 per cent of total care contacts were for patients with ages over 85.
* Of the 216,035 children and young people with a recorded gender and a referral received in the period, 55 per cent (118,505) were males, and of the 954,179 children and young people with a recorded gender and a care contact in the period, 55 per cent (523,210) were males.
* Of the 684,368 adults with a recorded gender and a referral received in the period, 39 per cent (269,121) were males, and of the 1,614,772 adults with a recorded gender with a care contact in the period, 38 per cent (611,849) were males.
* Across all submitters of care contact data, 87 per cent (5,386,597) of care contacts were attended by the patient and 4 per cent (239,204) were not attended by the patient (where attendance or non-attendance was recorded). The remaining 9 per cent of care contacts (580,255) were cancelled by the patient or health care provider.
* 51 providers submitted immunisation data. Across these submitters, 372,139 immunisations for children and young people were reported.
* There were 410,005 health visitor appointments for children and young people reported by submitters of care activity data. This accounts for 16 per cent of all care activities where an activity code was recorded for this group.
