This information is to help improve care by mental health services in a way that improves mental health, reduces inequalities, and supports service improvement and the quality of the care provided. The data collected in MHMDS includes personal and demographic information, diagnoses including long term conditions and disabilities and mental health care events. |

The Mental Health Minimum Data Set (MHMDS) was renamed Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Data Set (MHLDDS) following an expansion in scope (from September 2014) to include people in contact with learning disability services for the first time.
