The Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) allows prescribers, such as GPs and practice nurses, to send prescriptions electronically to a dispenser (such as a pharmacy) of the patient’s choice in England.

EPS reports and data set publication changes - 19 October 2026

Following a review, the dashboards and data sets listed on this page have been retired as of 19 October 2026. Power BI reports, zip and csv files have been updated up to this point.

The National Electronic Prescription Service Statistics will remain on this web page in a static state, until 16 November 2026. After which it will be removed.

Monthly information on EPS and eRD prescribing across GP Practices can be found on the NHS Business Services Authority website.

EPS Prescriptions data including previous week’s data will remain on this website in a static state, for the remainer of the financial year. After which it will be removed.

Electronic Prescription Service

This eRD data CSV file is a selection of raw data taken from the ‘data table’ page of the dashboard to enable further analysis. Please note the ‘CCG Code’ and ‘CCG’ fields are now labelled as ‘Place Code’ and ‘Place’.

This pharmacy data CSV file is a selection of raw data taken from the ‘pharmacy and appliance contractors’ page of the dashboard to enable further analysis.

EPS prescriptions data

Data relating to prescription transactions is downloaded daily from NHS Spine and made available in machine-readable (.csv file) format for secondary use. The data relates to prescriptions created, dispensed and claimed and is described in this meta data file.

This .zip file contains the daily data from last week, which we aim to refresh every Monday.

Data are supplied on a weekly basis. View previous weeks' data.

This information is also available in a Power BI report which includes daily and weekly profiles.
