Mental Health Services Data Set (MHSDS) submission update

The Mental Health Services Data Set (MHSDS) applies to all service providers and organisations that provide specialist secondary mental health, learning disabilities and autism services. This report shows those providers providing a submission compared to those NHS Digital currently consider to be in scope for the collection, alongside information on the use of the Multiple Submission Window Model.

The providers considered in scope for the MHSDS have been determined through collaboration with NHS England. This list is subject to revision based on new intelligence received. If you have any information about which providers should be in scope for this collection please email this to NHS Digital.

All providers of NHS funded specialist mental health and learning disability services should submit the MHSDS. The Master Provider List (the list of organisations expected to submit to the MHSDS) can be found in the ‘Providers in scope’ tab of the submission reports.

The format of the submission reports was updated from the April 2020 reporting period onwards to include additional information on the use of the Multiple Submission Window Model.

In June 2021, the submission reports from May 2020 to February 2021 were re-issued to correct an error affecting a small number of providers in the Table Coverage tab.

Corrections were also made to resubmission information for three providers for one reporting period each.
