This document provides guidance and screenshots to help providers make these six changes, should this option be preferred locally.

Following the go-live of MHSDS v4.1 submissions on 4 June 2020, issues were identified within the published IDB file that prevented submissions from being accepted. A new version of the IDB (MHSDS_v4.1_IDB_v2.accdb) has now been published on the TRUD website containing format changes to six data elements.

Providers also have the option to apply the format changes directly into the previous/incorrect version of the IDB, which will allow the IDB to be accepted

Additional guidance

The format changes, which are specified below, do NOT have any impact on the data that is to be submitted for these data elements (according to the Technical Output Specification). These changes are only to the format of the fields within the IDB. The new formats more closely resemble the formats used in the preceding MHSDS v4.0 IDB.

If choosing this option, please be aware that any invalid values within the fields may prevent the format from being changed or may result in the invalid values being removed from the affected records.
