Quarterly Monitoring of Cancelled Operations Return (QMCO)
Background to the collection
The 'Quarterly Monitoring of Cancelled Operations'(QMCO) return provides essential information for monitoring key targets and standards in the 'Cancelled Operations Guarantee'.
The Department of Health requires information on services provided by health care providers of theatre services and this information is collected by the Department of Health through the QMCO return.
The QMCO data is published to give patients an insight into the performance of their local trust and allows them to compare against all other trusts in England.
Launch and submission information
The collection is a quarterly collection and will open on the morning of the 1st working day after the quarter has ended (for example, Q1 will be collected in July). The collection will close at 11:59pm on the 18th working day after the quarter end. Registered data submitters of the data collection will receive monthly emails from SDCS confirming when the reporting window is opening and closing.
