General practice data available through the Strategic Data Collection System (SDCS)

The General Practice Annual Electronic Declaration (eDEC), General Practice complaints collection (KO41b) and GPIT Digital Maturity Index Assurance Indicators data collections will be available through the SDCS collection system.

GP Catchment area hub

In support of the General Practice Annual Electronic Declaration (eDEC), NHS England, working in collaboration with NHS South, Central and West have developed the GP Catchment area hub.

This tool will be made available to GP practices to submit their catchment area data. Prior to eDEC submission these data have been processed to support practices improve data quality.

As part of the eDEC submission, GP practices declare that their catchment area represents a ‘reasonably accurate reflection of the contract boundary’ held with the commissioner. GP practices can update their boundary at any time to improve data quality or following an agreed contractual change with their commissioner.

These data are updated after the eDEC collection round and on a weekly basis thereafter.

The following data collections will be available through the SDCS collection system:

  • General Practice Annual Electronic Declaration (eDEC)
  • General Practice complaints collection (KO41b)
  • GPIT Digital Maturity Index Assurance Indicators

Further information for the General Practice Workforce Census, can be found through the National Workforce Reporting System (NWRS).

If you experience any difficulties with registration or for any support with General Practice data collections, email: [email protected].
