KH03: quarterly bed availability and occupancy Data Provision Notice

The KH03 is a quarterly collection from all NHS organisations that operate beds, open overnight or day only. It collects:

• The total number of available bed days
• The total number of occupied bed days by consultant main specialty.

This collection is the primary source of information for briefing on numbers of beds and occupancy by sector.

NHS trusts with consultant-led beds (inpatient and/or day case) in any of the following specialties: general  and acute, mental illness, learning disabilities and maternity.
