Request received for which NHS Trusts had the highest number of referrals to their autism services from the following ethnic groups:

  1. White and Black Caribbean
  2. White and Black African
  3. Caribbean
  4. African
  5. Any Other black background.

Our response

In our response we provided  a count of referrals received each financial year from 1 April 2019 to 31 March 2026  where the primary reason for referral is either Suspected Autism or Confirmed Autism. 

The counts are provided for the specified ethnic groups and the data has been sourced from the Mental Health Services Dataset (MHSDS).
