Training Quality Improvement
Training staff to use clinical systems is essential to make sure that front-line services are provided quickly and efficiently. The Training Quality Improvement (TQI) team provides the following products and services to help training teams deliver high-quality training to health and social care staff.
Training Service Accreditation
The Training Service Accreditation (TSA) scheme is run by NHS Digital to assess the performance of training services against the national NHS Education and Training Standards. It provides an assurance of competency in training, demonstrates that services are operating at a nationally recognised standard, stimulates innovation and gives training services a clear development pathway for service improvement.
Education and Training Standards
The NHS Education, Training and Development (ETD) community and the TQI team have jointly developed a set of standards and supporting guidance, tools and templates. These provide support to trainers and training managers in designing, delivering and evaluating their training.
In addition, an Education and Training Standards Online Benchmarking Application (ESOBA) allows training services to assess themselves against the Education and Training Standards.
Support for Training Professionals
Resources and guidance are provided to support the professional development of trainers and training managers.
The NHS IT Training Professionals online community is a forum for trainers and training managers to share good practice, ideas, development opportunities, updates and other information with colleagues across health and social care. Free resources and toolkits are available on this forum.
