Register with a GP surgery service roadmap 2023/24

Recent features include:

• self-enrolment 
• catchment area checks 
• filter search to practices offering the service through Find a GP 
• improved patient matching to NHS numbers 
• new information for patients about Summary Care Records

• improvements to questions about smoking and alcohol

• new questions for dispensing doctors

Spring to summer

The service will:

• be available via the NHS App
• allow practices to manage, edit and pause enrolments
• offer options to automate the registration process (after GP practice staff accept the new patient)
• support bulk patient enrolments
• add questions about patient height and weight

Summer to autumn

The service will:

• improve catchment area checks including being able to accept out of area patients
• confirm patient accessibility needs 

The service will integrate with clinical systems.
