NHS Apply for Care ID release 4.2.0

Apply for Care ID released version 4.2.0 on 10 August 2026.

This release includes various enhancements and fixes.

Photo upload improvements

We've resolved an issue that could prevent users from successfully uploading photos during the application process.

Application upload validation review

We've reviewed and improved the validation rules applied during the application upload process to ensure more accurate and consistent processing.

Resend screen pagination

We've fixed an issue where pagination on the Resend screen was not displaying correctly, improving navigation through application records.

Application email updates

We've updated the content of email notifications sent for cancelled and expired applications to provide clearer and more consistent messaging.

Review page formatting

We've improved the formatting of the Likeness Similarity Ratio displayed on the Review page for better readability and consistency.

Name field enhancement

We've updated the application form by splitting the Full Name field into separate First Name(s) and Last Name(s) fields to improve data capture and alignment with identity documents.

Errors after the release

There is a small chance that after this release, Apply for Care ID users may see a blank screen or loading error. If this happens, please try these steps:

• force a reload of the page - press Ctrl + F5 (on some computers this can be Fn + F5)
• clear your browser's cache - press Ctrl + Shift + Delete

If you have a Registration Authority Manager or Agent role and you would like to request a new domain to be added, check the CIS allow-list first, and then complete a webform request.
