Data Quality

This section presents information for a variety of data quality measures for 2019/20 and across the previous 10 years.  For further information about data quality measures, please consult the Data Quality Statement, which accompanies this publication.

 

Proportion of unknown data items

The proportion of quit attempts where the outcome is unknown has been decreasing gradually from 23.1% in 2014/15 and is at the lowest level in the last 10 years in 2019/20 at 19.3%.

 

The proportion of records with a missing socio-economic code is at the lowest level in the last 10 years (8.4%).

 

Non-submitting local authorities

Twelve LAs did not submit any data for 2019/20 even though they are still running Stop Smoking Services: Hartlepool, Bolton, Cheshire West and Chester, Bradford, York, Nottingham, Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Ealing, Enfield, Bracknell Forest and City of Bristol.
