Data Quality
This section presents information for a variety of data quality measures for 2018/19 and across the previous 10 years. For further information about data quality measures, please consult Statistics on NHS Stop Smoking Services, Quarter 4, 2018-19, Data Quality Statement, which accompanies this publication.
Proportion of unknown data items
The proportion of quit attempts where the outcome is unknown has remained fairly stable since 2008/09.
The data quality of both intervention type and intervention setting have seen significant improvements since 2015/16.
Non-submitting local authorities
Eight LAs did not submit any data for 2018/19 even though they are still running Stop Smoking Services: Bradford, York, Bolton, Sutton, Nottingham, Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Bracknell Forest.
A further LA did not submit data for at least one quarter: West Sussex
