Summary

This statistical release makes available the most recent Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) monthly and quarterly data, including activity, waiting times, and outcomes such as recovery.


IAPT is run by the NHS in England and offers NICE-approved therapies for treating people with depression or anxiety.

Highlights

In July 2016 there were:

  • 105,202 new referrals
  • 76,035 referrals entered treatment
  • 49,264 referrals finished a course of treatment, of which:    
  • 85.2 per cent waited less than 6 weeks and
  • 97.6 per cent waited less than 18 weeks to enter treatment
  • 45,547 started treatment at caseness, with 48.5 per cent moving to recovery
