Summary

Data relating to the diagnosis and care of patients with dementia are published with various demographic breakdowns and diagnosis information including ethnicity and age/gender breakdowns, prescriptions of various medications and records of receiving certain care pathways.

Diagnosis rates are calculated by comparing recorded diagnoses to estimated dementia prevalence.

From July 2026 this publication is now quarterly due to a change in the frequency of the underlying data collection.

NHS England ran a consultation with proposed changes to the publication between Thursday 19th March and Wednesday 15th April 2026. This survey is now closed.
