Published: 22 February 2018 - This quarterly report brings together information on NHS dental activity in England up to quarter 2 2017-18 and information on the number of patients seen by an NHS dentist up to quarter 3 of 2017-18.
Highlights
In the 24-month period ending 31 December 2017, 22.1 million adult patients were seen by an NHS dentist, representing 50.9 per cent of the adult population.
The number of children seen by an NHS dentist in the 12 months to 31 December 2017 was 6.9 million. This equates to 58.2 per cent of the child population.
There were 9.7 million courses of treatments (CoT) in quarter 2 of 2017-18, a decrease of 129,040 on quarter 2 of 2016-17, based on provisional data.
