Summary
This is the 2016 Annual Report for the National Bowel Cancer Audit. The report is prepared by NHS Digital in partnership with the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland (ACPBGI) and the Royal College of Surgeons (RCS).
The results presented in this report are based upon patients diagnosed with bowel cancer between 1 April 2014 and 31 March 2015.
Individual trust-level reports have been created again this year. They have been compiled by the National Bowel Cancer Audit to allow the review of process and outcome measures at the trust and network level.
UPDATE February 2017: Table 7.3 in the Annual Report has been revised to correct an error in the data relating to 3 trusts: University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust; University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust; Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust. Please note that the individual trust reports are not affected. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Also updated with data files of the England information present in the annual report, in order to support open data and transparency.
