Summary
This annual report of the National Bowel Cancer Audit contains data collected on patients with a diagnosis date between 1 August 2008 and 31 July 2009 - the reporting period 2008/09. There continues to be an overall increase in submitted cases with over 23,000 cases recorded. This year case ascertainment has been calculated using contemporaneous HES data and registrations from the Welsh Cancer Intelligence and Surveillance Unit (WCISU).
