About this publication

The purpose of this MI is to make anonymous and summarised data available for use in public health analysis.

Publication notes

  • A living patient was defined as any patient who did not have at least one of the informal or formal notification of death flags within the Personal Demographics Service (PDS) data.
  • Age was calculated where a patient's date of birth (DoB) was present and is the age of the patient on date the data was generated. However, data contains some individuals who were under 12 when the data was generated - their DoB indicated that they would turn 12 within 7 days. They are included in the 12 to 16 age band.
  • Age bands used were 12-16 years, 17-19 years, 20-29 years, 30-39 years, 40-49 years, 50-59 years, 60-69 years, 70-79 years, 80-89 years, and 90 years and older.
  • Gender was defined as the sex at birth recorded within the PDS. Only aggregate counts for female and male are included, but other counts in csv include individuals with other/missing gender information. Therefore, total will not equal the sum of female and male.
