Summary Report - Treatment Specialities
Summary - treatment specialties with the greatest number of attendances, 2021-22
Ophthalmology (7.5 million), Trauma & Orthopaedics (6.7 million), Diagnostic Imaging (5.1 million), Physiotherapy (4.0 million) and Cardiology (3.7 million) specialties have recorded the highest levels of attendances in 2021-22.
The five most common treatment specialties accounted for 28.2% of all outpatient attendances.
Physiotherapy recorded the lowest ratio between attended and did not attend appointments with approximately 9.7 attendances for each appointment where the patient did not attend.
