5.53 million sight tests were paid for by Primary Care Trusts (PCTs) in England and Local Health Boards (LHBs) in Wales during this period. This was 3.6% more than the total for the period October 2004 to March 2005 (5.34 million) and 1.2% more than the period April to September 2004 (5.47 million).
PCTs/LHBs in England and Wales reimbursed vouchers for 1.99 million pairs of glasses in the period April 2005 to September 2005. This was 4.8% more than the total for the period October 2004 to March 2005 (1.90 million) and 0.5% more than the period April to September 2004 (1.98 million).
