Compendium - Infant mortality

To help reduce the incidence of stillbirths and perinatal, post-neonatal, early neonatal, infant, and neonatal mortality.

As of July 2020, NHS Digital no longer publish the data for these indicators. All resource files have been removed and replaced with a link to the source organisation, the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

The ONS publications are released on an annual basis, and the series contains current and historic data periods.

To access the data, follow the resource link provided to the ONS website which will open on the series page. Select the time period of interest, which will open an individual publication page. Within that page, click on the link on the right hand side labelled ‘View all data used in this statistical bulletin’. The statistics are available in the data set titled ‘Child mortality (death cohort) tables in England and Wales’.
