Summary
Please note, as a result of the recent Consultation on changes to NHS Digital Prescribing and Medicines Statistical Outputs, this will be the last publication of CCG level data at BNF Section level by NHS Digital. All future requests for this level of data should be directed to the NHS Business Services Authority.
This release contains prescribing data for the quarter January to March 2018, by Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) at British National Formulary (BNF) Section level. The data is made available via a tool called iView which will allow users to access the quarterly timeseries and to manipulate and extract data.
Data for April 2013 to December 2017 is already available by CCG within iView. Data for April 2008 to March 2013 is available by Primary Care Trust (PCT) within iView, see link below.
In line with the Making Public Data Public initiative, the data for October to December 2017 is also being made available as a comma separated values (csv) file. The structure of the file is:

Note that the column headings may differ from the iView files as this is an extract from ePACT (service provided by NHS Prescription Services).
The data in the .csv file and in iView data contain the old NHS Area Teams. NHS Digital has also grouped the non-CCG 'Cost Centres' that were included in the data into a single category. For further detail, please see the link 'Methodological Change Note' in the Related Links section below.
