Deaths from cancer increase with age

Figure 11 shows that in 2019 the mortality rate for cancer increased with age and that the rates were higher for males than for females from age 55 years.

In 2019, with increasing age the gap in mortality rates between males and females also increases, with the biggest gap in those aged 90 years and over where the rate was almost double in males (3,645 per 100,000 people) compared to females (1,918 per 100,000 people).
