Learning Disabilities Census

Summary

Controller NHS Digital
How we use the information (processing activities)

To deliver an audit of learning disability services for people with challenging behaviour, by taking a snapshot of care being provided, the number of people being cared for outside their local area (out of area placements) and the length of time they have been in residential care. This supports the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) in meeting the recommendations of 'Transforming Care: A national response to Winterbourne View Hospital' and the 'Concordat: Programme of Action', to improve the care of this group of service users.
