Publication timetable, fair processing and patient consent
Publication timetable
An annual report will be published on the NHS England website; the report will be published at national, regional, and service level.
The first NDISA report is expected to be published in July 2022.
Change management
Changes to the NDISA data collection are reviewed and agreed by the NDISA Advisory Group before being incorporated. The Advisory Group consists of clinicians, patient representatives and stakeholders in the audit. Any changes supported by the NDSIA Advisory Group are proposed to the NDA Executive Group and NHS England. Only once agreed by this group will changes be taken forward.
The audit team ensures that the data set is updated in line with NICE guidelines and in line with the purpose of the audit.
If you require further information about either the NDA Executive Group or the NDISA Advisory Group including membership, please contact [email protected]
Fair Processing informing patients
The NDA team with Diabetes UK produce a patient information leaflet and poster. The leaflet has been developed with input from patients. The leaflet should be available to all inpatients with diabetes. An information sheet containing the data items collected and different data sources is also provided that can be made available to patients.
Patient consent
Consent is not required. However, patients still have the right to opt out or dissent from the audit. Once the patient has viewed the patient information, if they do not want to take part in the audit they can opt out by informing their clinician. If after data entry, the patient contacts the clinical service and asks to be removed, please delete their record and notify NHS England at [email protected], so they can be remove them from any subsequent analysis.
