I think most of us are on the lookout for ways of making our lives easier, which is why I enjoy being a business analyst – I get to do this every day at work. Observing the status quo and then supporting teams to streamline their processes is hugely satisfying.
I completed a degree in Internet Computing and then started my career in the private sector in an IT support role. Over the years, I became aware my soft skills were one of my biggest strengths. Using this to my advantage, I worked my way up to become a business analyst and joined the organisation in the summer of 2021.
I now work with the API Management team. My first role was helping to improve their ‘front door’ – the channels software developers can use to get advice and support when looking to use our APIs.
It has been rewarding to hear feedback from developers about how things have improved. Previously, it could take API consumers a long time to onboard with our services, and for a small tech company, that could be a make-or-break situation. Things have moved on considerably since then.
I now work in a new role to increase the adoption of the digital onboarding service within API product teams.
No two days are the same, and I’ve been fortunate to work with a diverse and talented group of people, from technical writers to user researchers. The organisation is a leader in its field in putting users and customers at the heart of designing services, and I’m happy to play a part in making it happen.
