Establishment of information systems for NHS Services: national audit of pulmonary hypertension Directions 2016

Directions given by NHS England requiring NHS Digital to establish and operate a system for the collection of information to be known as the national audit of pulmonary hypertension information system.

Purpose

To measure the quality of care provided to people referred to pulmonary hypertension services in England (including patients referred from Wales) and Scotland. Information from the audit is used by clinicians and commissioners to support clinical practice, service development, improvement and commissioning activities.

Legal basis

Sections 254(1), (3) and (6) of the Health and Social Care Act 2012.

The Directions came into force on 3 March 2016.
