Establishment of information Systems for NHS Services: genetic testing rates information system Directions 2015 new
Directions given by NHS England requiring NHS Digital to establish and operate a system for the collection of information to be known as the genetic testing rates information system.
The purpose of the data collection is to gather information on access to and provision of genetic testing provided for NHS patients in the UK. The information will be used to support commissioners to review variation in access to services and to take action to improve access where required.
Sections 254(1), (3) and (6), 255(6), 260(4)(a) of the Health and Social Care Act 2012.
The Directions came into force on 12 October 2015.
