Establishment of information systems for NHS services: general practice contract data collections

Directions given by NHS England requiring NHS Digital to establish and operate a system for the collection of information to be known as the general practice contract data collections data collection system.

Purpose

To establish and operate a system for the collection and analysis of information for the General Practitioner (GP) contract services, which make up part of the General Medical Services (GMS) contract.

This Direction was signed on the 20 April 2018.

Legal basis

Sections 254(1), (3) and (6) of the Health and Social Care Act 2012.

The Directions came into force on 12 June 2017.
