NHS Digital Academy learning provides educational products ranging from bite sized, self managed learning to year-long diplomas. It brings together high quality learning from across the system and also includes a portal for AI learning. (You will have to sign in to use this resource).
IT training for health care staff
The Health Informatics Service (this) resource provides information on support and learning opportunities for desktop applications, clinical systems training and eLearning development. It also offers support for project work, course design, development, business change, advice and sustainable training. It is a useful starting point for developing IT skills from beginner through to advanced level.

Immersive cyber security learning for NHS staff
Immersive is a cyber security learning platform for NHS staff. It offers tailored learning to help users build the skills and confidence needed to stay cyber safe. Learning pathways can be selected to match individual roles, teams or departments. Whether staff are starting out or looking to deepen their cyber knowledge, Immersive can support ongoing development. You will need a NHS.net or NHS.uk account to register, and users can sign up individually or as part of a team or organisation.
NHS England cyber school in partnership with your regional digital skills development network
The NHS England cyber school provides information about limited funded places on the CompTIA Network+ and CompTIA Security+ courses. CompTIA Network+ validates knowledge of essential networking tools and concepts, while CompTIA Security+ is a globally recognised certification that demonstrates the core skills required for security functions and a career in IT security.
Professional bodies and informatics frameworks
BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT
BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, is the UK’s professional body for information technology. It promotes professional standards, ethical practice and continuous professional development across the IT industry through certifications, memberships, training and chartered IT professional status. It is currently available to NHS England staff, with potential scope for discounts for wider NHS individuals or organisations.
Health and care informatics The Federation for Informatics Professionals (FEDIP)
FEDIP, the Federation for Informatics Professionals, is the UK wide professional framework for health and care informatics. It provides independent recognition of skills, experience and professional standards, helping NHS staff demonstrate competence, support career development and promote the safe, effective use of data and digital technologies in healthcare.

Cloud Centre of Excellence recommended training and resources
The NHS England Cloud Centre of Excellence provides access to a range of free and discounted cloud training and certification opportunities for NHS employees. It covers AWS and Splunk cloud skills, as well as training in Google Cloud, IBM Cloud, Oracle Cloud, Microsoft Azure, security skills and Immersive cyber security learning.

The Government Commercial Agency (GCA) supports NHS organisations to purchase goods and services quickly, compliantly and cost-effectively through a range of pre-approved commercial agreements and procurement support. By using government commercial frameworks, NHS teams can improve value for money, simplify procurement processes and ensure compliance with public sector regulations.
It provides access to procurement essentials training from the GCA, including best practice guidance on procuring networks, connectivity and other related services.

Build and demonstrate your AI security skills with ISC2
ISC2 provides AI security learning resources and professional development opportunities to help NHS staff understand AI related risks, protect patient data and support the safe, secure and responsible adoption of AI technologies in healthcare. NHS staff may be able to access free or discounted training by contacting vendors and using an nhs.net account.
Networking Cybersecurity
Cisco Networking Academy, also known as NetAcad, is a global online learning platform offering free and low-cost courses in AI, cybersecurity, networking, programming and digital skills. Its flexible, self-paced training can help NHS staff build knowledge in AI security and digital technologies, supporting professional development and the secure delivery of digital healthcare services. A range of free cybersecurity training packages is also available through the Cisco Cyber Career Pathway.
Develop skills with free courses in Tech IBM SkillsBuild
IBM SkillsBuild is a free online learning platform offering courses and digital credentials in areas such as AI, cybersecurity, data, IT and project management. It provides self paced learning designed to help users develop practical, job ready skills.
