On-catalogue competition

About this change

We’ve digitised the on-catalogue competition process so that buyers can carry out that type of procurement online.

This functionality allows buyers to filter solutions to create a shortlist and then compare those solutions based on price or other non-price elements, for example service levels or implementation timeframes.

Why we did this

Benefits

Users will have access to a streamlined, digitised process that allows them to carry out an on-catalogue procurement in full online. It will also provide an audit trail to demonstrate why a particular solution or service was procured.

User feedback

Users highlighted some key needs that the on-catalogue competition should address, such as being able to access all the rationale for each decision made, being able to compare non-price elements (for example, features, implementation, interoperability and service levels) and being able to score solutions collaboratively as a team.

They also highlighted the need for more detailed and comparable information about solutions to make scoring a fair and accurate process.
