I am new to Splunk

You will need to sign in to the Splunk training portal using your work NHS email address to view the schedule and dates available. 

You can do this by following the registration steps below to apply for your chosen course. 

 

Registration steps

1. Go to the SPLUNK e-learning web page and choose the course you are interested in.

2. You will be asked to log in to Splunk Education.

3. You must use your NHS email address to register. 

4. Once you login, the price will automatically adjust to $0.

5. Click the enrol button to register. The registration will automatically complete and you can start your training. 

6. You can register for additional courses by using the search bar. 

7. Or you can also register for every class in one go. 

8. If you need any further registration support email the Splunk education team.

As a valued NHS Splunk user, you have unlimited access to our 22 short, self paced courses in the search expert and knowledge manager learning paths.

These courses are built in bite-size chunks and you do not need any previous Splunk skills to start benefitting from them immediately.

This eLearning course introduces students to what machine data is and how Splunk can leverage operational intelligence to investigate and respond to incidents in their organisations.

Introduction to Splunk

This eLearning course teaches students how to use Splunk to create reports and dashboards and explore events using Splunk's search processing language. Students will learn the basics of Splunk's architecture, user roles, and how to navigate the Splunk web interface to create robust searches, reports, visualisations, and dashboards.

Search expert

Search Experts write advanced searches, perform forensics and analytics, may provide organisational or team support for search-related assistance, and create dashboards and alerts to turn data into doing.

Courses in the Search Expert Track include

Choose from the following courses 

Knowledge manager

Create and manage knowledge objects to help interpret, classify, and enrich data, build and accelerate data models, and configure summary-based reports.

As an NHS Splunk-user, there are a range of other Splunk events, workshops and activities you can get involved with. On an ever-updating schedule, we will continue to work with you on honing your Splunk skills and getting the most from the Splunk Cloud product-set. 

Splunk exams and certification

Splunk certification is delivered with our examinations partner PearsonVue. Digital badging is provided via Credly to recognise and track your achievements. 

The following certification paths are available for Splunk students depending on your role and where you need to go with Splunk in the future.

To book an exam

1. You can purchase exam vouchers directly from PearsonVUE 

2. You can choose from one exam voucher for $130 or 5 for $500 From Splunk.                                                                           One exam voucher (EDU-CERT-1) - $130   Five exam vouchers (EDU-CERT-5) - $500.
